Christmas time is here friends! And I am so excited to share these Christmas handicrafts with you. Not only are they super easy crafts, they are unique and beautiful. You and your kiddos are sure to love them!
These crafts are part of my monthly handicraft plan. Each month, I send out a handicraft plan that includes four crafts for you to do throughout the month (one for each week!). It has a full supply list for the month and links to all of the craft instructions. It is geared for ages 4-8, but littles and older ones could definitely participate too!
The handicraft plan is full of crafts that are budget friendly, nature based, and will help teach your children hands on skills. I choose crafts that are not only fun, but also useful (and pretty).
You can sign up for the monthly handicraft plan here!

Our Christmas Favorites
There are so many traditions and activities surrounding Christmas. To be honest, most of it overwhelms me. But I’ve decided each year to just do the things that are most meaningful for our family. This year, we are doing the gifts of togetherness by Ralphie at Simply on Purpose. Each day, I hide a little piece of paper with an activity or craft on it for that day. The girls are loving this so far!
We are also celebrating Advent by reading scriptures each day, thanks (Vanilla Tulip Farmhouse!).
There are a few other activities I’m hoping to get to, like going to see Christmas lights and making hot chocolate, but we’re just taking it day by day over here. Ok, let’s get to the Christmas handicrafts!
Four Christmas Handicrafts to do this December
1. Yarn Letter Christmas Ornament – Instructions
First up for the Christmas handicrafts is created by A Daily Something. This one really caught my eye. Not only will it look so cute on your tree, kids of all ages can do it! It’s easy and simple – which in my opinion, are the best kinds of crafts!
Materials needed:
- Pencil
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Yarn
- Yarn needle (for specific letters)
2. Nature Snowflake Craft – Instructions
Little Pine Learners does it again! There are not many Christmas handicrafts out there, but Little Pine Learners really came through for me. All of her crafts are nature based and just so beautifully put together! My kids really enjoy them and I know yours will too. This is another simple, easy handicraft that is takes very little preparation. And it gets those little ones outside, which is always my goal! Hope your home is filled with nature snowflakes soon.
Materials needed:
- Sticks
- Pieces of nature
- Twine
- Little rubber bands
- White acrylic paint
- Hot glue
3. Jar Pine Tree Lanterns – Instructions
It’s amazing what can be made from some tissue paper and a jar! This Christmas handicraft is also from Little Pine Learners. It’s sure do go right along with that Christmas music you’ve got playing. Kids go crazy over anything that glows in the dark, so I know they’re going to love this one!
Materials needed:
- Jar
- Tissue paper
- Twine or string
- Scissors
- Small paper punch
- Matte Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Flameless tea light candles
4. DIY Snow Globes – Instructions + Video
This Christmas handicraft by Sugar and Spice and Glitter looks so fun! We made DIY snow globes last year and they were a hit! If you don’t have time to get Christmas figurines, you can totally use whatever you have around the house. My kids loved picking theirs out last year. This handicraft doubles as a decoration, which is always a win in my book!
Materials needed:
- small Christmas figurines
- distilled water
- glycerin
- mason jar
- hot glue + glue gun
- glitter
That’s it for the Christmas Handicrafts – now go get your craft on!
I hope you enjoy each one of the Christmas handicrafts this month! Don’t forget to sign up for your monthly handicraft plan. Hope to see you again next month. And Merry Christmas friend!
