I truly think Fall is the most beautiful time of year. We live in North Carolina and the leaves right now are at peak. I just want to live outside when the weather is like this!
I want to share some Fall handicrafts that are not only fun for your kids, but practical for your home.
If you’re not signed up for the FREE handicraft plan, you can sign up here. It’s the no hassle, no overwhelm way of doing crafts each month with your kiddos. I score the internets for the most useful, fun, and easy crafts I can find for that month – then I share them with you!

1. Fall Leaf Garland – Instructions
Once you get the few supplies needed, this one by Woodlark Blog is pretty simple to make. I make candles so we just used my coconut wax and it worked fine. But the recipe recommends beeswax. I think either one would work! Once we collected our leaves, we heated up the wax, dipped them, let them dry and we were done! We got to hang the leaves together on our mantle and it was such a sweet time. I’m all about crafts that double as decor, so this one is definitely a winner for me! I hope you and your kiddos love it as much as we did.
Materials needed:
- Leaves
- beeswax large block / small blocks
- A heat-proof bowl placed over a saucepan to create a double-boiler.
- Parchment paper
- Twine and clothespins
2. Nature Pumpkins – Instructions
If you’ve been following the blog for any amount of time, you know I LOVE Little Pine Learners. Everything she puts out is top notch. This craft is a simple one as well and only takes a few supplies. These could also double as decor. It could be used on your kitchen table, porch, or fireplace.
Materials needed:
- Pumpkin
- Pressed pieces of nature- You can press your own pieces or use this set.
- Mod Podge– I like the matte for this project, but the glossy variety will work just fine as well! It will just be a little shinier.
- Foam brush– This is optional, you can also use your finger.
3. Fall Bean Mosaics – Instructions
How cute are these from Frugal Fun 4 Boys and Girls?! I’d suggest getting a tray for each child, or just opting to do this one outside because we all know that beans will be everywhere! I love this craft because it uses fine motor skills, and it also takes a lot of patience to complete. I know my girls will love this one, and I hope your kiddos do too!
Materials needed:
- Cardboard
- Glue
- Dried beans
- Scissors or an X-Acto knife
- Pencil
4. Pumpkin Fairy House – Instructions
Confession – I don’t quite understand the obsession with fairy houses. But my kids are all about this. Give them tiny pieces of anything and they will create something! This one seems like a great family night craft. I think it would be so fun to create a pumpkin fairy house together. Well, a little messy, but mostly fun, right? Haha. Please comment below if you do this one! I want to see how they turn out. Credit to Woorlark Blog for another amazing handicraft!
Materials needed:
- pumpkin
- thin sticks
- natural items such as pine cones, moss, rocks, acorns, dried beans, leaves, feathers, seed pods, bark, fresh greenery
- air dry clay
- twine
- knife for carving
- hot glue gun
